Introduction: Chronic pain affects nearly 20% of the population, and has strong
psychological burden. Recent research has shown that psychological intervention helps
reduce the emotional symptoms associated and reported pain intensity. Of all
psychological therapies, it has been cognitive behavior which has shown better results
immediately. Therefore, we plan to evaluate the effectiveness of a delayed
psychological intervention program with notarized contents, after six months of
program implementation.
Method: To monitor the effectiveness at 6 months, takes place in a session between the
participants who completed the intervention going to 75% of the sessions. Thus, the
total number of patients (20), came to monitoring 18. For all of them, variables such as
intensity of informed pain, anxiety, depression, quality of life, self-efficacy and sleep
architecture and frequency were measured in practice techniques learned in the
intervention.
Results: The results show that after 6 months of completion of the intervention, the
levels of anxiety, depression and pain intensity was significantly reduced, and also the
results also emit significant improvements in the areas of quality life, self-efficacy and
sleep architecture it compared to the previous and subsequent measures to end the
program.
Discussion: The results show that the program is effective and that this effectiveness is
maintained and even, patients continue to improve once the program ends, especially in reported pain intensity.
