Apoyo social y tratamiento por juego patológico. Análisis de las características psicométricas del Cuestionario de Apoyo Social en Adicciones (CASA)

Abstract

El juego patológico afecta entre 0.3% y el 0.9% de la población española. En el tratamiento de las adicciones, el apoyo social se ha revelado como fundamental para el éxito de la intervención. Objetivo: Describir el apoyo social y la conducta de juego en personas en tratamiento por juego patológico, y analizar las características psicométricas del Cuestionario de Apoyo Social en Adicciones (CASA) en personas en tratamiento por juego patológico. Método: Participaron 35 personas diagnosticadas de juego patológico. Se evaluó el Apoyo Social, la Percepción del tratamiento, la Adherencia y la conducta de juego. Resultados: La pareja o cónyuge constituye el principal apoyo para superar la adicción al juego, el apoyo social percibido es alto al igual que la adherencia y la satisfacción al tratamiento, no se encontraron correlaciones estadísticamente significativas entre estas variables y el apoyo social. El Cuestionario CASA se ha mostrado como un instrumento fiable y válido para la medida del apoyo social en juego patológico. Conclusiones: Los resultados deben ser tomados con cautela, debido al escaso tamaño muestral. Por lo que el presente estudio debe ser considerado un piloto.

Pathological gambling affects between 0.3% and 0.9% of Spanish population. In addiction treatment, social support has proved to be critical for the success of the intervention. Objective: To describe social support and gambling behavior in people undergoing treatment for pathological gambling, and to analyze the psychometric characteristics of CASA (Questionnaire of Social Support in Addictions) in people under treatment for pathological gambling. Method: 35 people diagnosed with pathological gambling participated. The Social Support, the Perception of the treatment, the Adherence and the game behavior were evaluated. Results: The couple / spouse constitutes the main support to overcome the addiction to the game, the perceived social support is high as well as the adherence and satisfaction to the treatment, no statistically significant correlations were found between the study variables, the ASSQ has reliability and validity and the ASSQ Questionnaire has been shown to be a reliable and valid instrument in pathological gambling. Conclusions: The results should be taken with caution, due to the small sample size. The present study should be considered a pilot.
