Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common neoplasm among women, with a notable increase in incidence and mortality. The most common treatment is mastectomy, which can leave physical and psychological sequelae. Implementing post-surgical education and physiotherapy programs is crucial to improve patients' recovery and quality of life. Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence on therapeutic education and self-care interventions in post-mastectomy women in order to design an updated information guide that improves the information received in the hospital, as well as to identify educational needs. Materials and methods: A literature search was conducted in the PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, and ScienceDirect databases, including randomized clinical trials and one observational study. The methodological quality of the articles was assessed using the PEDro and Downs and Black scales. Results: The seven articles analyzed revealed key guidelines for addressing lymphedema and mobility restrictions. Perimetry, range of motion (ROM), and functional capacity stood out as the main indicators of recovery, associated with significant improvements in fatigue and the psychosocial well-being of the patients. Conclusions: It is crucial to adopt a holistic approach that integrates exercise, education, and psychological support to empower patients after a mastectomy and improve their quality of life. The implementation of appropriate interventions can significantly facilitate both the physical and emotional recovery of patients.es_ES
