This chapter focuses on the application of solidarity principle in light of European Union law. In particular, on policies on asylum in the context of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum proposed by the European Commission in September 2020. The purpose is to analyse the new proposals and to assess whether the new balance between responsibility and solidarity proposed in order to build confidence through more effective procedures, really achieves the goal of generating true solidarity in the application of asylum and migration policies that respect human rights.es_ES
