Desempleo y la Seguridad Social en España. Comparativa internacional de las prestaciones por desempleo

Abstract

Este trabajo fin de grado analiza la evolución de la Seguridad Social y las prestaciones por desempleo en España, desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad. Comenzaremos con las primeras iniciativas durante la dictadura de Primo de Rivera, que establecieron las bases para el seguro contra el paro. Luego, abordaremos el impacto de la Segunda República y la creación de la Caja Nacional contra el Paro Forzoso. A continuación, se examinará la postguerra y la formalización del sistema de Seguridad Social en 1963, seguido de las reformas en la era democrática para adaptarse a las necesidades sociales. También se considerará la respuesta del sistema ante la crisis económica y la pandemia de Covid-19. Finalmente, se reflexionará sobre la importancia de la protección del desempleo, se hará un breve repaso sobre las diferentes prestaciones de desempleo o similares alrededor del mundo, y se ofrecerán recomendaciones para mejorar el sistema en el futuro.

This thesis analyzes the evolution of Social Security and unemployment benefits in Spain, from its beginnings to the present day. We will begin with the first initiatives during the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera, which laid the foundations for unemployment insurance. Then, we will address the impact of the Second Republic and the creation of the National Fund against Unemployment. Next, we will examine the postwar period and the formalization of the Social Security system in 1963, followed by reforms in the democratic era to adapt to social needs. The system's response to the economic crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic will also be considered. Finally, it will reflect on the importance of unemployment protection, briefly review the different unemployment or similar benefits around the world, and offer recommendations for improving the system in the future.
