Glea: Trabajo fotográfico sobre la Huerta de Murcia

Abstract

Glea es un trabajo fotográfico que propone una exposición visual y conceptual sobre el patrimonio cultural inmaterial y material de la huerta de Murcia, sobre sus tradiciones y costumbres arraigadas a la identidad murciana. Con la fotografía como medio de representación, se busca plasmar la cultura de este lugar, además de su conservación activa. Las imágenes exploran el vínculo que tienen los murcianos con el entorno huertano, un lazo cada vez más deteriorado por el paso del tiempo y la indiferencia institucional. El proyecto documenta lugares ahora en decadencia por el paso del tiempo y la poca o nula conservación de las historias que se han quedado allí y que nadie cuenta. El título Glea, en dialecto panocho, significa “tierra fértil”, que representa el vínculo y arraigo de los huertano/as con la huerta. Glea is a photographic project that offers a visual and conceptual exhibition of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Huerta of Murcia, its traditions and customs deeply rooted in Murcian identity. Using photography as a medium of representation, the project aims to capture the culture of this place while also advocating for its active preservation. The images explore the bond that Murcians have with the rural environment of the huerta, a connection increasingly eroded by the passage of time and institutional neglect. The project documents places now in decline due to time and the little to no effort made to preserve the stories that remain there, untold and forgotten. The title Glea, in the Panocho dialect, means “fertile land,” symbolizing the deep connection and attachment of the huertanos/as to the huerta.
