Populismo: Comportamiento y Estabilidad. Un estudio de caso en Grecia, Italia y Venezuela

Abstract

El presente trabajo es un acercamiento al concepto de populismo, a su evolución desde el siglo XIX hasta la actualidad y a su comportamiento según los contextos históricos y socio-económicos. Para ello, se realiza un estudio de caso comparado. En concreto, en los contextos de la Venezuela de 1999, con la irrupción de Hugo Chávez, la Italia de finales del siglo XX y principios del XXI, con la llegada de Silvio Berlusconi y la Grecia de 2009, que vivió un ascenso del populismo encabezado por Syriza, consecuencia de la grave crisis económica.

The present research shows an approaching to the populism concept, analyzing how it has evolved from the 19th century to the present and how it has behaved according to historical and socio-economic contexts. In particular, in the context of Venezuela in 1999, with Hugo Chávez’s emergence in the Venezuelan political map, Italy in the late 20th century and early 21st, with the arrival of Silvio Berlusconi to politics and Greece in 2009, country who the upsurge of populism led by Syriza, as a consequence of the severe economical crisis.
