Evaluación de pacientes con diagnóstico de hipotiroidismo subclínico en tratamiento con levotiroxina en atencón primaria de la Región de Murcia

Abstract

-Introducción: El hipotiroidismo subclínico es una enfermedad que se produce por un déficit de hormonas tiroideas, respecto a su prevalencia en España parece encontrarse en torno al 9%, tratándose habitualmente con aportes de levotiroxina, no obstante existen pacientes que están siendo sobre-tratados sin estar indicado. -Objetivos: Este estudio tiene como objetivo principal analizar la proporción de pacientes que se encuentran sobre-tratados con levotiroxina pese a no cumplir las indicaciones terapéuticas en un centro de salud del área VII de la Región de Murcia. Además, como objetivos secundarios se pretende valorar la prevalencia e incidencia del hipotiroidismo subclínico así como identificar otros determinantes que influyen a la hora de prescribir levotiroxina. -Materiales y Métodos: Se realizará un estudio observacional de tipo descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo, analizándose una muestra N=572 participantes que se extraerá del total de pacientes adultos con diagnóstico de hipotiroidismo subclínico en un periodo de 5 años (2019-2023) en el ámbito de un centro de salud del área VII de la región de Murcia.

Its prevalence in Spain appears to be around 9%, and it is usually treated with levothyroxine supplementation. However, there are patients who are being overtreated without a proper indication. -Objectives: The main objective of this study is to analyze the proportion of patients who are overtreated with levothyroxine despite not meeting therapeutic indications in a health center of Health Area VII in the Region of Murcia. Additionally, secondary objectives include assessing the prevalence and incidence of subclinical hypothyroidism, as well as identifying other determinants that influence the prescription of levothyroxine. -Materials and Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective study will be conducted. A sample of N=572 participants will be analyzed, drawn from the total number of adult patients diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism over a 5-year period (2019–2023) in a health center of Health Area VII in the Region of Murcia.
