Introduction: The growing demand for palliative care has increased the emotional and physical burden on informal caregivers (ICs), who play a crucial role in the patient’s well-being. However, these ICs face high levels of stress and a lack of specific support. Objective: To create an online psychoeducational and therapeutic program aimed at improving the emotional well-being and reducing the burden of ICs of palliative patients. Materials and Methods: A prospective study design is proposed with 30 informal caregivers of palliative care patients, selected based on inclusion criteria such as a minimum of six months of experience in the caregiving role. The program will consist of 8 sessions (90 minutes each), integrating techniques of self-care, self-compassion, and resilience. Assessments will be conducted before and after the intervention using scales that measure burden, anxiety, self-compassion, resilience, and stress. Results:
Significant improvements in emotional well-being and reductions in burden, anxiety, and stress are expected, along with an increase in self-compassion and resilience. Conclusions: If these results are confirmed, the online program could serve as an accessible and effective tool to support ICs, enhancing their quality of life and their ability to provide palliative care.
