Caracterización de selecciones de habas tempranas de Verdeo (Vicia faba L. var. major) del Campo de Elche

Abstract

Se han caracterizado 8 selecciones de habas tempranas de verdeo (Vicia faba L. var. major) con el objetivo de conocer sus características fenológicas, morfológicas, agronómicas y de calidad. Todas las selecciones han florecido tempranamente. Se han encontrado diferencias significativas en algunos descriptores, las más importantes corresponden a la longitud, el peso de la vaina, la precocidad y la productividad. Las producciones de todas las accesiones han sido buenas. Las selecciones locales se mostraron más precoces que las variedades comerciales. Para siembras de ciclo temprano se elige la selección local 4 “Jaime Coves” por las características de sus vainas y por su precocidad y, para ciclo intermedio, se elige la 6 “Salvador Alonso” por su buena productividad comercial, resistencia al encamado y las características de sus vainas. Sería interesante repetir el ensayo y realizar nuevas prospecciones

Eight selections of early green broad beans (Vicia faba L. var. major) have been characterized in order to know their phenological, morphological, agronomic and quality characters. All selections have blossomed early. Significant differences have been found in some descriptors, the most important being length, sheath weight, precocity and productivity. The productions of all the accessions have been good. Local selections were earlier than commercial varieties. For early cycle plantings, the local selection 4 "Jaime Coves" is chosen for the characteristics of its pods and its precocity and, for intermediate cycle, the 6 "Salvador Alonso" is chosen for its good commercial productivity, resistance to bedding and the characteristics of their pods. It would be interesting to repeat the test and perform new surveys
