This study aims to carry out a research project that analyzes the travel patterns and distances traveled by minors on their daily trips from their homes to schools in the city of Vall d'Uixó (Castellón) and the preference of these when carrying them out, in order to improve them and provide them with greater security. Focusing the research work from the theoretical framework based on the theory of daily or routine activities of Marcus Felson and Lawrence Cohen, a legal framework at the regional level that promotes sustainable and safe displacement, and a State and Community framework related to the project. Stars. It involves transversal work that involved a large number of departments of the Vall d'Uixó City Council and the local police as the backbone of all actions. The basis of this work was developed around the STARS project "Sustainable Travel Accerditation and Recognition for Schools", led by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) that promotes sustainable and safe travel in educational centers, on foot and by bicycle. By carrying out surveys on schoolchildren to find out how they travel from home to school, their preference in the way they travel, their autonomy and the distance traveled from their homes to school, results were obtained that, together with the Coordination work resulted in a large number of proposals for improvements that would provide more efficient, effective and safe solutions for urban travel for schoolchildren and their families.
