INTRODUCTION: Diabetes and the diabetic foot are a major public health problem, due to all the complications derived from this chronic disease, which continues to increase over the years. For this reason, research and commitment on the part of podiatrists and different health professionals is necessary in order to reduce the different consequences derived from diabetes. Due to this, this bibliographic review is carried out in order to apply current technology, such as AI, to help combat these complications. OBJECTIVES: The main objective is to see the degree of implementation of AI in podiatry, more specifically in the diabetic foot, observing the existence of this, and the degree of development, as well as finding examples of successful implementation of AI in the treatment of diabetic foot. METHODOLOGY: A literature review was carried out on the degree of implementation of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of diabetic foot by searching databases such as Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science. Thirteen studies have been selected that meet the proposed objective. CONCLUSION: We conclude and can affirm the implementation of AI in the treatment of the diabetic foot and in podiatry, as well as the feasibility of the use of AI in the areas defined in the objectives, podiatry and diabetic foot.
