Introduction: the development of diabetic foot ulcers is one of the most serious complications in
patients with diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, high pressure on present diabetic foot ulcers increases
healing time. Therefore, a key element in the prevention and/or treatment of diabetic foot ulcers is the
application of temporary discharges of adhesive felt to reduce plantar pressures since they constitute a
highly effective temporary discharge and easy to apply if They have the right knowledge for your
design. Objective: to carry out an action protocol for the application of plantar shocks through the use
of adhesive felt in patients with diabetic foot. Methodology: when preparing a discharge with felt, it
is advisable to carry out a biomechanical study, prior to its application, with a pressure platform and
computer system to achieve a personalized discharge. Due to the different characteristics that patients
present, there is no standard design on how to perform discharges with adhesive felt, which is why
different designs are shown for different situations that healthcare professionals may encounter in
consultation. Conclusions: access to this protocol by health professionals will facilitate, in
consultation, a correct approach in the design of discharges according to the pressure pattern or
location of diabetic foot ulcers.
