This systematic literature review aims to analyze the use of robotics in both primary and secondary education settings, including formal and informal environments. Specific inclusion and exclusion criteria were established during the review process, resulting in the identification of 91 published studies since the year 2000. These studies were categorized into five themes based on their respective outcomes. Overall, findings suggest that research focusing on learning skills and transferability indicates that robotics engages students more actively in learning, aiding in their comprehension of abstract concepts and application of knowledge in new contexts. Similarly, studies addressing diversity indicate that robotics can enhance interest in STEM subjects among groups that are currently underrepresented in these areas. Additionally, research on teacher improvement underscores the importance of professional development workshops to enhance the necessary skills for integrating robotics into the curriculum of the teachers. However, this analysis also identifies the need for more rigorous research to validate these findings and improve educational practices. In conclusion, educational robotics is considered a valuable tool for interdisciplinary learning, fostering cognitive and social skills among students, and enhancing the pedagogical approaches of teachers.
