Per convicció

Abstract

“Per convicció” és un reportatge en format podcast que reflecteix la realitat del valencià a l’àmbit digital, l’ús que se li dona i els projectes que existeixen. El treball es divideix en tres capítols: el primer anirà dedicat a les xarxes socials i la creació de contingut en la nostra llengua; el segon, en canvi, parlarà sobre els mitjans de comunicació del nostre territori i, en concret, dels digitals; i, per últim, el tercer capítol tractarà la intel·ligència artificial i la seua relació amb la llengua a través del projecte Nel-Vives. Internet ha obert les portes a una realitat globalitzada, alliberada de barreres institucionals i on tot té cabuda, però també on es promou l’èxit d’allò més viral i on les cultures i les llengües pròpies queden en un segon pla. Al terreny de les xarxes socials hi ha joves i noves veus que han trobat un nínxol de mercat on se’ls permet començar a desenvolupar la indústria de la creació de contingut en valencià, encara que troben entrebancs per a aconseguir la professionalització del sector, com la remuneració, els algorismes o la folklorització de la llengua. Per altra banda, a la Comunitat Valenciana existeix una dieta mediàtica castellanitzada on, segons les dades publicades, la gran majoria dels mitjans de comunicació informen en castellà, mentre que tan sols uns pocs dels suports digitals ho fan en valencià. Però revertir aquesta situació no és fàcil perquè hi ha una manca de finançament i una desvertebració periodística del territori. En l’àmbit de la intel·ligència artificial hi ha un buit en valencià. L’únic projecte existent en aquesta llengua és Nel-Vives, que tracta de recopilar corpus de veus enregistrades i corpus de text per poder entrenar a la intel·ligència artificial i oferir la possibilitat al mercat de les empreses tecnològiques de crear aplicacions com assistents de veu, traductors o xat-bots que parlen valencià i, a més, en qualsevol de les seues variants dialectals.

“Per convicció” is a report in podcast format that reflects the reality of Valencian language in the digital environment, the use that is given to it and the projects that exist. The work is divided into three chapters: the first will be dedicated to social networks and the creation of content in our language; the second, however, will talk about the media in our territory and, in particular, digital media; and finally, the third chapter will deal with artificial intelligence and its relationship with the language through the Nel-Vives project. The Internet has opened the doors to a globalized reality, freed from institutional barriers and where everything has a place, but also where the success of the most viral is promoted and where cultures and languages are left on the back burner. In the field of social networks there are young and new voices that have found a niche market where they are allowed to start developing the industry of content creation in Valencian, although they find obstacles to achieve the professionalization of the sector, such as remuneration, algorithms or the folklorization of the language. On the other hand, in the Valencian Community there is a “Castilianized” media diet where, according to published data, the vast majority of the media report in Spanish, while only a few of the digital supports do so in Valencian. But reversing this situation is not easy because there is a lack of funding and a journalistic disintegration of the territory. In the field of artificial intelligence there is a gap in Valencian. The only existing project in this language is Nel-Vives, which tries to compile a corpus of recorded voices in order to train artificial intelligence and create applications such as voice assistants, translators or chatbots that speak Valencian and, moreover, in any of its dialectal variants.
