Our planet is experiencing an unprecedented climate crisis, caused by human activity, in which a significant portion of existing biodiversity is disappearing. To reduce its effects, it is important to raise awareness among citizens, especially the younger generation, about the crisis we are facing. To achieve this, environmental education in schools is essential. This work proposes the organization of a micro-conference on endangered animal species as a means to promote environmental education, with the objectives of raising student awareness, encouraging scientific teamwork, and improving their communication skills. In this micro-conference, students will work in groups to create a poster, a model, and a presentation about the characteristics, threats, and protective measures being taken for an endangered animal. After the micro-conference, a theoretical exam took place, which included questions related to the topics discussed in the micro-conference. The results of this exam showed that students assimilated and retained the information they had worked on in the micro-conference better than the information given in a traditional lecture. Additionally, the micro-conference helped students improve their teamwork, research abilities, and communication skills. We can conclude that micro-conferences are a highly useful tool for promoting environmental education
