Introduction: Rhythmic gymnastics is based on exercises with complex body elements and apparatus. All include body difficulties, apparatus difficulties, waves, and other scoring criteria. Injuries are mainly caused by excessive use due to demands and exhaustion, mainly affecting the ankle, lumbar spine and upper extremity. Currently there is an increase in sports injuries, which is why prevention is gaining importance. Objectives: Describe the most frequent injuries in Spanish rhythmic and their characteristics, as well as consult prevention plans and develop recommendations for them. Methods: Two Google forms surveys on injury epidemiology and its characteristics and prevention were sent to gymnasts and trainers. Using the inclusion and exclusion criteria, gymnasts of the rhythmic discipline and athletes with musculoskeletal injuries were chosen for the study. Results: Of the 106 responses, 3 had no injury and the remaining 103 had 129 injuries. The most frequent types are tendinopathies and sprains and the remarkable region is the lower limb. Most of the injuries occurred during training and most received physiotherapy treatment. In addition, both gymnasts and coaches consider injury prevention important but do not apply it regularly. Conclusion: Injuries are becoming more common, highlighting those of the lower limb produced during training. On the part of the federation there is no preventive plan and, for this reason, the implementation of one is necessary.
