Abstract:
In the present literature review, a review of studies on endocrine disruptors (17αethinylestradiol, 17β-estradiol, 4-nonylphenol, bisphenol A and perfluorooctanoic acid) and the analysis of the effects produced on the immune system and the reproductive system of fish has been carried out with the aim of finding out if there is a relationship between exposure to them and the appearance of diseases. Modalities of endocrine disruptors can be estrogenic (e.g., 17β-estradiol) or anti-androgenic (e.g., perfluoroctanoic acid), among others. Studies on the various endocrine disruptors focus mainly on their effects on the reproductive system. Nowadays, the study of the effects on the immune system of fish has become more important due to the increased concentration of these environmental pollutants and their possible effects on the human immune system.
