La Venida de la Virgen, entre la fidelidad al pasado y su modernización presente

Abstract

En la ciudad de Elche cada año, en las fechas invernales del 26 al 30 de diciembre, se celebra la fiesta de la Venida de la Virgen, organizada por la Sociedad Venida de la Virgen con la ayuda del Ayuntamiento de Elche, siendo sus protagonistas el respeto por la historia y la tradición. Siendo el día más especial el 28 de diciembre y consiguiendo que se lleven a cabo todos los actos más representativos, comenzando por la reconstrucción del hallazgo de la Patrona de la ciudad, la Virgen de la Asunción, de madrugada en la playa del Tamarit ubicada en Santa Pola, seguido de la romería y después la carrera de Francesc Cantó, con la continuación de la procesión en honor a la Virgen. Sin embargo, pese a ser una tradición de hace más de 650 años, en ocasiones se necesitan realizar una serie de cambios y mejoras para modernizar la fiesta a lo más actual posible, pero siempre siendo fiel a la tradición. Las modificaciones más destacadas que se presentan son remodelación del huerto de les Portes Encarnades y su difusión a través de las redes sociales, y de campañas para el alumnado de escuelas infantiles, colegios e institutos de la ciudad, además mejorar la seguridad en las calles en la habitual carrera del guardacostas Francesc Cantó.
