Seguridad de los pacientes domiciliarios en atención primaria

Abstract

El progreso de la atención a domicilio (AD) se ve influenciada por el aumento de la esperanza de vida, actualmente de 83,3 años. Sin embargo, la AD supone un reto ya que ésta consiste en aportar a un paciente dependiente cuidados seguros y de calidad. La seguridad en el hogar debe de ser una combinación de factores físicos, emocionales y mentales, sociales y cognitivos; por ello es primordial adoptar un marco holístico de la seguridad. El objetivo general de este proyecto es describir la seguridad de los pacientes domiciliarios pertenecientes al departamento de salud 16 Marina Baixa. Se trata de un estudio un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal. Durante un período de un año y medio, con la ayuda de colaboradores e investigadores, se pasarán, dentro del ambiente domiciliario del paciente, tres tipos de encuestas: una encuesta sociodemográfica, una encuesta clínica , y una encuesta de evalu ación del medio domiciliario, mediante la cual se quiere analizar el estado del medio domiciliario del paciente, debido a una amplia variedad de peligros potenciales que pueden mermar la seguridad de éste en su propio hogar. Aplicabilidad y utilidad: Los resultados de este estudio nos aportaran información acerca de la situación en el domicilio de las personas dependientes, Además podrían servir como base para futuras líneas de investigación mediante las cuales se podrá analizar si la implantación de un protocolo disminuye los ingresos hospitalarios derivados de una seguridad insuficiente en el domicilio.

Statement: The progress of the home health care process (HHCP) is influenced by increasing life expectancy, currently at 83,3 years. However, the HHCP could be considered a challenge as it is based on safe and high-quality nursing for bed bound patients at home. Safety within the home should be made up of a combination of physical, emotional, social, and cognitive factors and as such adopting a holistic approach should be a priority. Aim: The general aim of this project is to describe the safety of the ‘care at home’ patients who belong to Marina Baixa 16th Health Department. Methods and techniques: It is an observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study. During a period of one and a half years, with help of collaborators and investigators, three types of surveys will be used. A sociodemographic one (to obtain sociodemographic and personal information), a clinical one (made up of different tests, analysing various versions of Marjory Gordon’s functional health patterns) and an evaluation of the ‘care at home’ environment (made for this trial and based on the HOME FAST tool). Due to there being a large variety of potential risks that can reduce a patient’s safety in their own home, we want to analyse the status of the patients’ home environment from the above results. Applicability and use: The results of this trial will contribute to information about the home situation of bed bound patients. In addition, this study could serve as a base for future lines of investigation in which they could analyse if the implementation of a protocol reduces hospitalisations derived from insufficient safety in the home.
