Artificial insemination is the most used method of reproduction in the swine sector. Therefore, the effect of breed, soil type and environmental conditions on sperm quality was studied in this study. A total of 1913 ejaculates from 61 boars were analyzed, 48 of the Pietrain breed located on both grate and sawdust floors and 13 of the Duroc breed located on grate floors. The study was conducted taking into account the conditions of temperature, relative humidity and ventilation factor of the shed from November 2021 to May 2022. The parameters measured were volume of semen, concentration, seminal dose potential, motility, percentage of motile sperm and the number of total abnormal forms, in addition to the percentage of distal cytoplasmic drops, proximal drops, tails or other abnormal forms individually. The statistical model included the fixed effect of breed-soil type (3 levels: Pietrain- grate, Pietrain-sawdust, Duroc-sawdust), months (7 levels: from November to May) and the aleatory effect of male. Higher sperm quality was observed for Pietrain housed on grate floor (Volume: 244.28 ml; Motility: 3.18; Motility: 78.84 %) with Pietrain housed on sawdust having the lowest quality of the three groups (Volume: 225.27 ml; Motility: 3.11; Motility: 3.11; Motility: 76.96 %). There was a decrease in quality with increasing temperature, with the lowest semen quality found in May. As a conclusion, the most appropriate soil for both breeds is the grid soil, with the Pietrain breed standing out, together with a better quality in the winter months
