INTRODUCTION: Stroke is one of the main causes of worldwide mortality. It causes a reduction in gait ability and dual tasks due to cognitive damage which makes more complicated their daily activities. The treatment consists of promoting the recovery of motor and cognitive functions. The use of the Lokomat device can improve the recovery of these functions. OBJETIVES: Assess the gait in people with stroke with the Lokomat treatment. METHODS: A literature review was conducted in the scientific databases Pubmed, PEDro and Scopus, including clinical trials from 2016 to February 2022. The keywords “lokomat”, “stroke”, “gait”, “gait disorders” and “neurological” were used. Inclusion criteria were observational and/or experimental studies evaluating a treatment and written in English or Spanish in the last 5 years. RESULTS: Thirteen studies were used to compare Lokomat treatments with other devices or conventional therapy. Evidence on gait quality, balance, spasticity, muscle strength and activity, and daily activities were found. CONCLUSION: Lokomat treatment is effective for gait ability, especially if it is applied with conventional treatment at the same time. The level of evidence is limited because there is a lack of studies. In addition, more studies will be needed to evaluate a protocol and/or parameters for a better use of these device.
