Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a disorder characterized by the presence of obsessions and compulsions. On the other hand, Pure obsessive-compulsive disorder has the same characteristics, but only obsessions, without compulsions. The goal of the present intervention proposal, based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, is both to change the reactions to the disturbing thoughts and to modify the strategies used, as well as to improve the patient's quality of life and reduce the use of drugs. For this objective, ten theoretical and practical sessions have been developed to work on obsessive thoughts and improve the patient's quality of life with a duration of one hour each. The therapy should be completed in five weeks, with two sessions per week. It is implemented in the context of the hospital, as well as through the Internet. In addition, the patient's wife is included in some sessions. Inventories such as the Yale-Brown Obsession-Compulsion Scale (Y-BOCS), Behavioral Avoidance Test for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (BAT), Maudsley Obsession-Compulsion Inventory (MOCI), Padua Inventory (PI) are used.
