Causas y consecuencias de la implantación y desmantelación de la industria base en las Cuencas Mineras

Abstract

La idea de este estudio surge tras la realización de un reportaje para Cadena Ser realizado durante mis prácticas de verano. El reportaje aborda la vida de los escasos habitantes que todavía viven en Aliaga y sus barrios pedáneos como Santa Bárbara y Campos. La dificultad que supuso encontrar personas en la zona y la majestuosidad de la imponente infraestructura abandonada de la central térmica de Aliaga despertaron mi interés sobre el tema. La despoblación es un grave problema que afecta a la mayor parte de España, en concreto a veintitrés provincias, que tienen una densidad poblacional inferior a la media nacional. Teruel es una de las más afectadas en esta pérdida de población, pero también escasean los recursos, el trabajo y muchos de los servicios básicos. Por ello este trabajo pretende buscar el inicio de este problema de desertización y tratar de proponer soluciones a ello. El foco del estudio se encuentra en la central térmica de Aliaga ya que en el momento de su construcción y puesta en funcionamiento, los habitantes de la zona crecieron notablemente viéndose obligados a construir barrios pedáneos como Campos y Santa Bárbara. Esto supuso un gran impulso económico y poblacional para Teruel, pero tan solo treinta años después, su cierre impulsó el comienzo de un decrecimiento desmesurado de la población hasta convertirse prácticamente en pueblos fantasma y lugares de veraneo. Toda la información expuesta durante la investigación ha sido previamente contrastada y solicitado el permiso para su utilización. Las fuentes consultadas están debidamente citadas tanto en el texto como en la bibliografía para que cualquiera que así lo deseé pueda comprobarlo.

The idea of this study arises after the realization of a report for Cadena Ser made during my summer internship. The report deals with the life of the few inhabitants who still live in Aliaga and its districts of Santa Bárbara and Campos. The difficulty of finding people in the area and the majesty of the imposing abandoned infrastructure of the Aliaga thermal power plant aroused my interest in the subject. Depopulation is a serious problem that affects most of Spain, specifically twenty-three provinces, which have a population density below the national average. Teruel is one of the most affected in this loss of population, but also scarce resources, work and many of the basic services. Therefore, this work aims to find the beginning of this problem of desertification and try to propose solutions to it. The focus of the study is on the Aliaga thermal power plant, since at the time of its construction and commissioning, the inhabitants of the area grew significantly and were forced to build neighborhoods such as Campos and Santa Barbara. This was a great economic and population boost for Teruel, but only thirty years later, its closure led to the beginning of a disproportionate decline in the population until they practically became ghost towns and summer resorts. All the information presented during the research has been previously contrasted and permission for its use has been requested. The sources consulted are duly cited both in the text and in the bibliography so that anyone who wishes to do so can verify it.
