Introduction: Currently, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM-2) is increasing due to the unhealthy lifestyle and to the aging of population. An effective way to prevent the disease is through a resistance and strength concurrent training. The aim of the present study was to analyze the effects of an exercise program on physical condition and health measures in people with DM-2. Method: A total of 4 participants (2 men and 2 women) diagnosed with DM-2 successfully completed the program during 4 weeks with a weekly frequency of two days, with a pre-test and a post-test. A total of 21 measures broken down into 4 blocks (clinical measures, quality life and sleep, body composition and physical condition), were established to assess their evolution. Results: After completing the intervention of 4 weeks, significant changes were found on maximum force of the upper body in Press Bench (+29.67%) and of the lower body in leg press (+36.94%). The rest of measures did not show any significative changes. Conclusion: Therefore, a concurrent physical exercise program during a short time period (4 weeks) with a frequency of two days per week has proved effective in improving the maximum force of the upper and the lower body, and to improve the resistance of trunk’s flexor and rotators in people with DM-2. However, the measures associated to the illness were not affected after that trial.
