Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurobiological developmental disorder. It usually manifests during the first three years and will last throughout the life of the affected people. Autism has two fundamental symptoms: persistent deficiencies in communication and social interaction and restrictive and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests or activities. In Spain there are about 300 thousand people with some type of ASD, of which 50 thousand are school-age children. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) help improve the communication skills of individuals with this disorder, so that they facilitate their socialization and a better understanding of the world around them. Interactive games, applications and websites simplify everyday actions that are more difficult for people with ASD to face. The objective of this work is to demonstrate how technology can help and be beneficial in the development and improvement of the communication skills of people with ASD, facilitating the development of their daily activities and their relationship with the rest.
