The Internet is very present in everyday life. For years it has become an almost essential tool to function normally. The problems related to its use triggered the appearance of Internet addiction whose prevalence, depending on the country, reaches 26.7% in Hong Kong. With this growing problem comes the need for prevention, especially in adolescents and young adults. For this reason, the aim of this study is to update the knowledge on the effectiveness of existing prevention programs. The following specific objectives are established: (1) to identify the objectives of prevention programs taught in educational centers, (2) to analyze the components and instruments used, (3) to evaluate the quality of published studies and (4) to compare the results of the publications studied. For this, a systematic review was carried out in the databases, finally finding 7 publications that met the established inclusion requirements. According to the results found, six of the seven programs meet their objective of reducing scores related to the misuse, abuse or addiction to the Internet of adolescents. In addition, it has been seen that increasing students' self-control reduces the problem of Internet abuse.
