The present work tries to approach clearer ideas of how important is the identification, valorization and management of agricultural organic residues, mainly those generated by the intensive and extensive banana plantations existing in Ecuador. Residues such as the rachis of the fruit, leaves and dead parts of the plants to fruits discarded for the export process do not have a use or destination other than to serve as feed for pigs or cattle or in other contexts it is disposed on the soils without any treatment generating alterations in the pH of this medium, among other harmful effects for the ecosystem in general. Studies estimate that 15% of the total biomass weight of one hectare of banana cultivation corresponds to residues or residuals that do not have a technical, energy, economic and / or chemical use, that represents more or less a total of 150 kilos per hectare of which a significant percentage occupies the fruit discarded for export and the rachis generated by the removal of the fruit. To identify in a more detailed way the types and amounts of waste generated by each hectare of banana cultivation, the following objectives have been set: Identify and classify the waste generated during the banana production chain, Select which of the waste generated during the banana production chain are susceptible to valuation processes and Evaluate the different valuation strategies, highlighting which are the most applicable to the reality of agriculture in Ecuador. Result of the development of the present work and after an approach in the field to be able to identify, quantify and carry out a survey of the destination of the residuals of the banana crop, the constant results were identified in several tables that contain information about these items, later it was carried out A documentary review of the most commonly used practices to value organic residues from banana cultivation, highlighting that one of the most viable mechanisms for the type of residual is to classify it as biomass with which electricity could be generated, in parallel the waste fruit can be subjected to industrial processes to generate banana flour whose price in international markets is between two and three times higher than wheat flour widely used for human consumption. Any of the mechanisms chosen to value this type of organic waste will develop other businesses and economies in parallel, such as transport logistics, business chains, internal markets for each product manufactured with the identified by-product
