Doblemente invisibles, mujeres y sin hogar

Abstract

El presente reportaje denuncia la situación de las mujeres sin hogar de la ciudad de Valencia, donde 197 de ellas durmieron en la calle en el año 2019. La investigación trata de dar a conocer el sistema de vida que llevan estas mujeres en situación de calle y a qué recursos pueden acceder para pernoctar y el sustento personal. Mediante los testimonios de varias afectadas por estas circunstancias se intenta desenmascarar cuáles son las causas por las que están en esta situación. El trabajo aborda diversos temas como la violencia en las calles y la precariedad agravada por la invisibilidad en esta situación. Por último, la larga espera para acceder a los recursos impide que estas mujeres puedan encontrar posibles soluciones para salir de su problemática. El hecho de ser mujer y dormir en la calle invisibiliza aún más la situación.

This report denounces the situation of homeless women in the city of Valencia. According to the 2019 census, carried out with the collaboration of several organizations in Valencia, 197 of them slept on the streets that year. The research aims to shed light on the way of life of women living on the streets and what resources they can access for overnight accommodation and personal sustenance. Through the testimonies of five women affected by these circumstances, it tries to unmask the reasons why they are in this situation. The work addresses various issues such as violence on the streets and the precariousness aggravated by the invisibility of women in this situation. Finally, the long wait for access to resources prevents homeless women from finding the solution to their problems. The fact of being a woman and sleeping in the street makes the situation even more invisible.
