Currently, there isn´t any known medical intervention able to stop or prevent the
appearance of the Parkinson´s disease, which has caused an increase on the interventions´ interest
based on alternatives strategies, for example, new technologies. The use of new technologies in
neuropsychological rehabilitation it dates back to seventies but, in recent years, various studies
have been developed in multiple areas, giving validity to new technologies use.
The main objective of this prospective research is to analyze if the intervention using a
tablet device with patients with the Parkinson´s disease between 1-3 stadium of the Hoehn-Yahr´s
scale it´s apt and effective for the design of a specific application for intervened patients´ profile,
observing if it exists stability or a decrease in cognitive impairment, in addition to an improvement
in dexterity and coordination between eyes and hands. The study participants received 12 sessions
of occupational therapy where the intervention was performed with a tablet device. Subjects were
evaluated using Spanish validation of mini mental state examination and Nine Hole Test.
The test obtained positive results among participants, specifically in motor area, they
obtained an increase in fine motor dexterity and coordination between eyes and hands, and an
improvement in cognitive skills besides, precisely in memory capacities.
