Introduction: The number of old people is increasing, but actually, in good part, they are healthy, active and independent people, this is due to the increase of the life expectancy and quality life. Old age is a moment to learn and teach, but especially to upgrade the feeling of being useful, for example; as volunteers, encouraging the social relationships, the feeling of gratification and reduce the feelings of loneliness and sadness. According to statistics, the number of elderly voluntary has increased in a 40% compared to the 60-70 years, this is due to the increase of opportunities of volunteering in this profile, the changes at the public attitude towards the aging and the better quality of life. Objective: We ask to perform a bibliographic review to determine motivations of volunteering with older people. Material and Methods: Have been used the databases Pubmed, Psicothema, Scielo, Dialnet, ISOC, complutense scientific journal and academic google. Results: After applying the exclusion criteria and remove duplicate items, we found a total of 27 articles. After remove articles which could not access the full text or the summary was not interesting, we got12 articles. Conclusions: The results of our review show that nowadays does not exist studies about the motivations towards the voluntary elderly, but we recognize the most frequently motives, besides having the biggest physical and mental benefits which are produce by the voluntary, benefiting especially to old people.
