Child abuse would be one that encompasses all forms of physical and emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect or neglect, comercial or other exploitation, that cause real or potential harm to the child´s health, survival, development or dignity, in the context of respondability, trust or power. At present it is a problema not only due to the number of existing cases, but also due to the consequences that it entails.
There are several types of child abuse: physical abuse, psycological abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, Munchausen syndrome by proxy, shaken baby syndrome, institutional abuse and prenatal abuse.
The present TFM´s general objective is to design a proposal for the primary prevention of child abuse for its subsequent application in the school context.
The specific objectives are to delve into the risk factors for child abuse, learn about the protective factors for child abuse, learn abour existing child abuse prevention programs, and design activities that help to communicate and detect this type of abuse.
The prevention proposal offered with in this TFM consist if twelve sessions, with a duración of an hour and a half those that are group and with a duration of half an hour those that are reduced.
The main objective of this proposal is that the recipients of the program can identify cases osposible risk of child abuse, offering them information about what child abuse is and the diferente types that exist within it.
We found other specific objectives within the proposal, such as identifying and distinguishing the signs and symptoms of an abused child, helping communcation between parents/guardain and children, helping children to show their emotions more openly to their cargivers, and help children learn the importance of asking for help.
