According to some studies, the acquisition of skills and abilities should not be limited to the classroom. Teaching and learning forms that integrate theoretical and practical knowledge and that are developed in a professional and social environment are necessary. In the degree in Audiovisual Communication at the Miguel Hernández University, strategies that combine training in the title competencies with the reality of the working world are sought. Project-based learning, ABP, is a methodology that has demonstrated effectiveness and has aroused interest and involvement among those involved. At the same time, the figure of the last-year student who supports the learning of first-year students is implemented as a useful and close to students tool. This text presents a real project in which second-year students make reports for educational television, CREA Television. To do this, the students form working groups and, through the production of CREA TV, they contact non-university educational centers to establish topics of educational and social interest and convert them into reports. These practices are developed in a cross-disciplinary way in several subjects and are supervised by different professors. In addition, to encourage effective learning outside the classroom, in the recordings of reports as well as in their post-production phase, the groups are supervised by a fourth-class support student with the ability to solve problems and advise during the work process. This student has two tasks: design and launch the reports section of CREA TV and supervise the work of the students at the production and post-production phases. To be disseminated on CREA Tv, each report passes a rubric of verification that includes objectives from different subjects. The pieces that do not meet some of these criteria are modified until a publishable result is achieved. At the end of the reports, a questionnaire is also given to the participants to know the effectiveness of this methodology in terms of the acquisition of skills and the usefulness for the students. The experience has been satisfactory in terms of the involvement of students and their commitment to improve their work before its dissemination. The role of the support student has been essential to reinforce the work of each group, beyond the subject. However, training gaps have been detected because there are contents that have not been completed or have not been sufficiently reinforced. Furthermore, some students have stated that the practice should be carried out in subsequent courses given the responsibility that implies for them to work with real people and for real media. Given all this, a work formula that provides more security and better mastery of the equipment should be reconsidered, for example, by carrying out previous simulations on the campus, reinforcing the handling of equipment. However, this type of work is essential from the first levels to get the students used to real situations that give them experience, ease and security before finishing their studies, so they can satisfactorily face the professional demand.es
