Abstract:
Introduction: Low back pain is a debilitating factor that in most of the cases the underlying cause is not found, but it has a high prevalence. There is an interaction between the mechanical anomalies of the segments of the lower limbs and the lower part of the back. Hypothesis: The deformities of the foot cause lesions in the ascending chain being the low back pain a possible repercussion. Objectives: Analyze the relationship between foot deformation and low back pain. Methods: A literature review was carried out in relation to podiatric health in patients with low back pain in data bases such as Tripdatabase, Pubmed and Lilacs. The selected articles were evaluated based on the inclusion criteria. Results: A total of 7 articles were reviewed, including bibliographic reviews and retrospective studies. Discussion: The possible deformities of the foot associated with low back pain are cavus foot, flat foot, excessive pronation or supination of SA, sagittal blockade of the ankle and the metatarsophalangeal joint of the first toe. Conclusions: There is not enough scientific evidence to demonstrate the relationship of foot deformities with low back pain.
